Late in October, Scott and I went to his cousin’s wedding in Mt. Pleasant. Their reception happened to be in the clubhouse of four of our college friend’s neighborhood. We sent them a quick text to see if they were home, and one couple was, so we decided to rush over quickly to say hello and meet their new bundle of joy, baby Jacob. After a quick visit, I realized I had my camera at the hotel and we scheduled an impromptu photo shoot the next morning.

To date, he was the best baby I’ve ever photographed. He was so laid back and happy. Pair a happy baby with the gorgeous light the Bells’ house offers, and you get some great photos. Enjoy!

Baby Stella

In October I was fortunate enough to photograph the lovely Miss. Stella. It was close to her 2nd month birthday, and she was an absolute perfect model. Here are some of the shots I got from that day.

Since we don’t have children yet, Scott and I call two furry pets our babies. Russell is our first adopted baby, a tuxedo cat with a very laid-back demeanor.

Then there’s Charlie, our Boxer + German Shepherd mix who’s very playful but insanely sweet as well.

That’s right. I shot….a wedding. Technically, my title would be second-string photographer for the talented Heidi Graves. It was a fun experience, and I’m thankful for the opportunity despite all my photographic limitations, especially at the time (these are from this past April). I think I’d do a much better job now after having learned so much these past five months, plus the addition of my awesome new lens. Maybe I’ll get my chance at your wedding…

Visit from Tyler + Olivia

My cousin sister, Olivia, affectionately known as “bug,” brought Tyler up to Spartanburg for a visit. It was supposed to be a trip to the Greenville zoo (my gift to her for her birthday) but we were rained out. Instead, we just went to lunch, watched a movie and had a mini photoshoot.

Boykin One Week Old

On my way back home, I made a point to drive to Camden to try to get a few pictures of my newly born nephew, Boykin. He’s had trouble regulating his body temperature, so we weren’t able to get that sweet body naked to take the typical newborn photos. Once he gets that under control we’ll try again. Till then these pics will have to do.

Labor Day weekend was blissfully spent with my family at Isle of Palms, SC. We got a week’s fill of each other, and it was wonderful! I took so many pictures of my family (they are my favorite subjects, after all) so here are a few to highlight our time together.

Baby Shower Reunion

I realize my posts aren’t very timely as I’m trying to catch up on all the things that have gone on in the past few months. This one is no different. This baby shower took place the last weekend of July, the day before the shower we threw for my Sis-In-Law, Caroline. This one was for my been-friends-since-middle-school, Victoria. It’s so fun to see how we’re all growing up and how our lives are changing. She moved to Arizona, so sadly we don’t get to see her very often, but when she comes back to Columbia, it’s always a reunion. I got to see Brandy, who is recently engaged, and Jenny who is also a proud new momma. I got to take some pictures of Victoria’s niece, and Jenny with her son Yancey.
